Sindola सिंदोळा किल्ला

Grade: 3/5 (Medium)

Location : Sindola Fort, Malshej Ghat माळशेज घाट, Western Ghats range near Pune, India

Getting there : They are total four routes

1. Karajale phata – (This route is recommended if you going via ST or from Kalyan) Karajale phata is situated on Kaylan-Malshej-Alephata Highway in between Khubi phata & Vel Khind. Distance between Khubi phata & Karajale phata is around 1.5km. To reach Sindola fort from Karajale phata pl. refer 1st & 2nd route map of this blog. If you going via ST many times conductor will not understand ‘Karajale phata’ stop. They will drop you at Khubi phata.
From Pune-
Pune – Narayangaon – Junnar – Ganesh khind- Pargaon phata- Velkhind- Karajale phata
From Mumbai –
Kaylan – Malshej- Khubi phata – Karajale phata

2. Pargaon – (This route is recommended if you going via own vehicle) Reach Pargaon phata, which located on Kaylan-Malshej-Alephata Highway. Reach ‘Pargaon’ village via Pargaon phata. Distance between ‘Pargaon’ village & Pargaon phata is around 2 km. After reaching ‘Pargaon’ village head towards ‘Bagadwadi’, Just after 500m from ‘Pargaon’ village towards ‘Bagadwadi’ at right hand side you can see a cart route which leads you to 2-3 group of house as shown in 4th image of this blog. You can park your vehicle there. From that spot you can see Sindola fort & its spur. Head towards spur. Pl. refer 1st & 2nd route map of this blog.
From Pune-
Pune- Narayangaon-Junnar-Ganesh khind- Pargaon phata-(Take Left turn) -Pargaon
From Mumbai –
Kaylan-Malshej- Khubi phata – Velkhind- Pargaon phata (Take Right turn) – Pargaon

3. Bagadwadi – (This route is recommended if you going via own vehicle) Reach Pargaon phata, which is located on Kaylan-Malshej-Alephata Highway. Reach ‘Bagadwadi’ via ‘Pargaon’ village from Pargaon phata. Distance between ‘Bagadwadi’ from Pargaon phata is around 4-5 km. From ‘Bagadwadi’ you can see Sindola fort & its spur. Head towards spur. Pl. refer 1st & 2nd route map of this blog.
From Pune-
Pune – Narayangaon – Junnar – Ganesh khind – Pargaon phata (Take Right turn) – Pargaon – Bagadwadi
From Mumbai –
Kaylan -Malshej- Khubi phata – Velkhind- Pargaon phata (Take Left turn) – Pargaon – Bagadwadi

4. Velkhind – (This route is not recommended because this is longest route) Vel khind is located on Kaylan-Malshej-Alephata Highway between Pargaon phata & Khubi phata. Distance from Pargaon phata is around 2 km. There is small Dattamandir on starting of Khind from Malshej side. Route from back side of Dattamandir go towards Sindola fort. Pl. refer 1st route map of this blog.
From Pune-
Pune – Narayangaon – Junnar – Ganesh khind – Pargaon phata – Velkhind
From Mumbai –
Kaylan-Malshej- Khubi phata – Karajale phata – Velkhind

Time to Visit : Any time, Best Time- Mid June to October

Time to Reach :
From Karajale phata – 2-2.5 hrs
Pargaon – 2 hrs
Bagadwadi – 2.5 hrs
Velkhind – 2.5-3 hrs

Water Availability : Not available on fort.

Stay Facility : Not available on the fort.
